To create a world in which anyone can access the power of information and ideas. Mozilla believes that if they build tools and services that work well for everyone, then they done our job.
How does Mozilla help people?
Mozilla helps people by providing them with the best possible experience while using the internet. Our mission is to provide a great browsing experience across devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, TVs, connected cars, smart watches, and VR headsets. We also strive to give users control over their data and privacy, and promote openness and innovation in the web ecosystem.
What is the story behind you getting involved in Mozilla?
With the release of the Netscape browser suite source code in 1998, the Mozilla project was born. Its goal was to harness the creative power of thousands of internet programmers and fuel unprecedented levels of innovation in the browser market. Within the first year, new community members from all over the world had already contributed new functionality, improved existing features, and become involved in the project’s management and planning.
What are the key features of Mozilla and how does it help the society?
Enhanced Tracking Protection with Private Browsing: Browse quickly and for free. Browse the Internet without saving any information about which sites and pages you’ve visited on your computer. Firefox will also block creepy trackers that track your online activity.
How did you start doing Mozilla rep programs?
Mozilla has always been about community and the belief that working together makes the internet a better place. Mozilla created the Reps program ten years ago to add structure to our regional programs, building on our open source foundation. Over the last decade, the program has assisted in activating local communities in over 50 countries, testing Mozilla products and launches before they were released to the general public, and collaborating on some of our most important projects.
How did you get required support?
When you contribute to #Mozilla, you become a member of a global community of people who believe that we all have a role to play in ensuring that the internet remains a force for good. We believe that community collaboration is critical to building a diverse, innovative, and accountable internet for the people who need it the most.
